Our Mission

Operactive Arts is a UK-based organisation that supports the creation of immersive experiences and bold new methods for storytelling, music-making, and audience engagement.

Founded in Edinburgh in 2024, we believe opera has always been an art form of innovation. From its European origins through to its global propagation nowadays, opera has continuously evolved. Today, we continue that tradition by exploring how artificial intelligence, data science, and immersive media can deepen the connection between performers and audiences.

Our work challenges opera's traditionally exclusive conventions, reimagining it as a vehicle for digital inclusion and innovation while honouring the extraordinary craft of classical musicians.

Our Vision

"Opera for the people: artistic democracy and inclusion through operatic practice."

We envision a future where live performance is not a passive experience but a collaborative act of creation. Where audiences are co-authors of the story. Where technology amplifies human artistry rather than replacing it. Where classical music speaks powerfully to contemporary concerns.
