The Production

An original, newly written contemporary opera, continuing our exploration of live performance shaped in real time by its audience. Our previous productions sold out in Edinburgh, Lund and Manchester, the last presented with English National Opera.

Singers work in a closely knit company alongside an experienced creative team. No prior experience with technology is needed.

The Roles

We are casting principal, supporting and chorus sopranos and baritones. Rehearsals take place in Manchester, in two blocks: autumn 2026 (September to November) and spring 2027. Singers need to be available for both, so we particularly welcome applications from singers based in and around Manchester and the North.

Rehearsal days are split across the two periods, and each performance day includes a same-day rehearsal. Music is provided in advance and singers are expected to arrive well prepared.

You are welcome to tell us which role type interests you most. We consider every applicant for all three, and will suggest the fit we believe suits each voice best, which may differ from the type you apply for.

All roles are paid, with fees in line with Equity and Musicians' Union guidance. Fee details are shared with shortlisted applicants.

Rehearsal dates are provisional. Some unavailable days can be discussed with shortlisted singers, depending on role.
